German Class 52 Kriegslok (War Locomotive)

The 52 8038 steam locomotive was built in the south of Poland in 1943.

After the war it served in East Germany and was completely refurbished in 1961. It continued to be in service in the area around Dresden until 1981.

Stored in various locations, it was then purchased in 1996 by Vereins "Dampfeisenbahn Weserbergland" and now it travels between Rinteln and Stadthagen several times per month.
